Applied Kinesiology in Douglas

A very large percentage of the time (as much as 85% of the time), where someone experiences their main complaints, it’s not where the problem began. Applied Kinesiology (AK) is an assessment tool which allows the doctor the ability to find the root cause of the patient’s problem(s). This is accomplished by evaluating the “Triad of Health” (Structure, Chemistry, Emotional) through specific muscle testing procedures. There is never a cookie cutter treatment that will fix all patients. AK is used as a diagnostic tool, along with other standardized assessments, to provide tailor made treatment for each individual patient’s needs, with longer lasting results.

Some of the therapeutic treatments that are used as part of the Applied Kinesiology approach are:
  • Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy for the restoration of joint mobility, relief of nerve root pressure and the re-establishment of proper biomechanics.
  • Cranial Therapy to balance Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) pressure and flow.
  • Nutritional Supplementation Therapy to support proper biochemistry and physiologic function.
  • Acupuncture Meridian Therapy to balance electromagnetic energy around and through the body.
  • Vascular Reflex Therapy for improving blood flow to various parts of the body.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Therapy to help the body get rid of toxins and cellular debris.

Dr. Ediss has over 300 hours of post graduate training though the International College of Applied Kinesiology (I.C.A.K.) and is a certified “Professional Applied Kinesiology” (P.A.K.) doctor. For more information about Applied Kinesiology, you can visit the ICAK-USA website.

Applied Kinesiology (AK), developed by Dr. George Goodheart in 1964, uses bioenergetic feedback through testing the strength of various muscles in the body. This highly individualized, in-depth system of analysis, allows the doctor to assess various aspects of a patient's state of health by evaluating and treating postural and muscular imbalances, neurovascular and neurolymphatic points, subluxation, cranial-sacral movement, acupuncture meridians and nutritional status. This is a highly effective treatment system which focuses on whole body care.

AK allows the skilled health practitioner to evaluate functional illness, which typically precedes disease. AK gives insight into the underlying causes and solutions to many functional health problems.

"One of the biggest benefits of AK is it gives us a tool for discernment!"
